AM5728: How to turn off HDMI output

Hello,

We have duplicate output on our main LCD and the HDMI output. There are times we need to temporarily disable the HDMI output but keep the main output. Is there a way to disable & reenable the HDMI output using the driver or is there a better way?

Hi Scott,

Yes, you can turn off rendering to HDMI by disabling the overlays, Graphics or video display pipe connected to HDMI overlay manager.

Hello,

I was hoping for a better answer than just "Yes". What command is available? Is there a register that enables / disables HDMI output? Where should I look in the technical reference manual?

Hi Scott,

I assumed you are using Linux SDK which comes with drm driver APIs to turn on/off the overlay.

If you are configuring

1. GFX pipe for HDMI output, please refer to Table 11-242. DISPC_GFX_ATTRIBUTES

2. Vidx pipe for HDMI output : please refer to DISPC_VIDx_ATTRIBUTES Registers (x: 1/2/3)
