Flash connection and programming

Hello,

I have a questions from the customer:

"1. In our device, download the program in the RAM from the serial Program-Flash via SPI interface CS0. Exchange data with Data-Flash and MSP430  are also through the SPI interface CS1 and CS2. In this case, there is a need to be powered by DVDDEMIF?

2. For first programming serial Program-Flash through JTAG what power should be included?"

Thanks in advance.

Igor

  • Hello Igor,

Sorry to answer your questions with a question. I would like to understand what this customer is trying to accomplish. Is he trying to not power up the peripherals that are not in used?

    Regards.

  • Hi Steve,

The customer is going to use C5515 and MSP430 together. In the beginning C5515 will be on board but will be turned off since they are going to work on a firmware now.

Later on when a firmware is ready they will turn it on by MSP430. Both MSP430 and C5515 are connected to data flash by SPI and use different CSs. His questions are:

    1.  Which Vdd should be supplied to C5515 in order to work with SPI.

    2. Also they need to program data flash through JTAG so may maybe additional power supplies voltages are necessary.

Please advise which voltages have to be connected.  in both cases.

    Thanks

    Igor
