TDA2PXEVM: EVE and IPU CPU consumption

Part Number: TDA2PXEVM

Hello,

We are using an internal algorithm in DSP (it takes about 60% without any DSP extrinsic operation), but we are analysing to run the same algorithm into EVE or IPU. It seems it is taking a lot of CPU, I would like to confirm with you it is a normal CPU load. is it expected behaviour?

Do you have a compatibility (indicative) table between cores CPU load?

Do you know the EVE and IPU consumption estimation (all operations are integer byte operations) from DSP consumption?

Do you know if there are internal EVE (VCOP) operation list (like DSP extrinsic operations)? and for IPU?

Best regards,

  • Hi,
Its difficult to comment much here without knowing the algorithm which you are trying to port on EVE. But you can refer the following document which comes as part of EVE/ARP32 compiler to know various instruction's/operation supported by EVE ( refer the section 1.10 Vector operations):

    SPRUHB9B.pdf

You can refer the <EVESW>/docs/eve_sw_getting_started.pdf to see the steps to install the above compiler.

    Regards,
