AM3715 replacement ideas?

I have a customer who CANNOT get AM3715's in house (apparently they are on allocation).  They are trying to think of an interim solution until their parts come in. Will this work?

The OMAP3530DCUS72 could be used as a stop gap while the DM3730CUS100 can replace the AM3715CUS.

Any ideas?

    The OMAP35xx devices could be used as a temporary solution if they can live with the lower speed grade associated, however there are some differences in the hardware potentially so it may not be a perfect drop in replacement depending on how they have their board setup, there is a document on this at http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/OMAP35x_To_AM37x_Hardware_Migration_Guide and though it is targeting the reverse of what you propose, it makes for a good checklist to see how well the OMAP35xx would work on the AM3715 board.

    The DM3730 you mention should be a more drop in replacement for the AM3715, it is basically the same only it adds in a C64x+ DSP core.
