TMS320C6747: Flashing the C6747 through the use of a debugger

Part Number: TMS320C6747

We are currently using a JTAG Debugger Part Number XDS100V2 to connect to the DSP C6747.  We would like to write to flash from the debugger so an application can be booted from flash when the debugger is not in use.  Is this the correct debugger or should a different part be used?  We do not see an option in the menu to select a file to be written to flash in Code Composer Studio 10.

What is the preferred method for writing an application to flash?  Use a debugger through JTAG or using the UART Bootrom, or a different method?
