AM6548: WKUP Domain Power Connection

Part Number: AM6548
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDX654IDKEVM

On the TMDX654IDKEVM, VDDA_LDO_WKUP is connected to DGND via a 0Ω resistor (R798).

Is this incorrect?

The related thread recommends connecting a decoupling capacitor even if VDDA_LDO_WKUP is unused.

Best regards,

Daisuke

  • My recommendation is to continue to follow the datasheet.  If the integrated LDO is bypassed and its output (CAP_VDD_WKUP) is not connected to VDD_WKUP0/1 - I recommend connecting the input (pin VDDA_LDO_WKUP) to a valid power source along with the specified input/output capacitors.  This is because the datasheet provides a requirement for VDD_LDO_WKUP,  and that does not include 0v.

I understand the EVM bypasses the LDO and does not power it (connecting input to GND).  However - I don't know what other limitations this scenario might I incur.  Thus - I recommend customers follow that datasheet recommendation.

  • Hi Robert-san,

    Thank you for your reply.
