DRA829V: Error connecting XDS560v2 to target custom board

Part Number: DRA829V

Hi,

We have a customer board with ARM 20-pin header on your board and have to convert it to TI MIPI-60 pin for XDS560v2 JTAG header.

Below are the pictures:

Connection properties:

Output of the Sd560v2Config script:

I am able to detect the emulator on the Linux host PC.

Test Connection:

When we try to run test connection we get the attached output:

/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/791/xds_5F00_test_5F00_connection.txt

Error I face:

When launching the target configuration, I face the below error:

Can you please guide us with what the problem could be here? Any method to check if the convertor we prepared is correct?

Regards,

Karan

  • Hi Karan,

Given that the SD xds560v2 config utility detects the debug probe (CCS debugger can successfully communicate with the debug probe) and that the customer is getting an invalid read-back error (bad connection between the debug probe and the JTAG scan path on the target), the issue is likely related to the custom converter that was created.

In your first picture, the custom converter cable looks to be for a ARM 20-pin to cTI 20-pin conversion. Hence I assume the customer board actually has a cTI 20-pin JTAG header on it, correct?

Note that the mapping between the two connectors is NOT 1-to-1. Please confirm that the customer mapped the signals correctly:

Also note that there is a convertor available for purchase for this. I would recommend the customer getting a proper converter instead:
