DRA76P: Enabling gpios from u-boot and kernel

Hi Deepika,

Which driver is using the GPIO? The user of that gpio should do that gpio configuration.

If you are simply testing some GPIO then you can use sysfs nodes.

Ex: echo 'n' > /sys/class/gpio/export

echo out > /sys/class/gpio/gpion/direction
echo 1 > /sys/class/gpio/gpion/value

Its not about testing. I need to enable some gpios as the board boots. There is about 15 gpios which we need to enable from boot.

I have pin muxed them in uboot. I need to set direction and value in kernel.Before we used to do the same in the board file. Bit now where I can add this in kernel ?

In u-boot:

File: arch/arm/mach-omap2/clocks-common.c

Function: scale_vcores

You can add you custom gpio_set function.

That should be doing something like what is done in function: do_scale_vcore
gpio_request(number, "Name");

gpio_direction_output(gpio_number, value)

or gpio_direction_input(gpio_number) based on your need.
