TDA4VM: Multicast and Broadcast data packages can not be transmitted through Ethernet

Part Number: TDA4VM

Hi all

-- we apply below macport and change some pinmux configurations to make our customed board work

    {
        .portNum    = ENET_MAC_PORT_3, /* RGMII */
        .vlanCfg = { .portPri = 0U, .portCfi = 0U, .portVID = 0U }
    },
    {
        .portNum    = ENET_MAC_PORT_4, /* RGMII */
        .vlanCfg = { .portPri = 0U, .portCfi = 0U, .portVID = 0U }
    },
    {
        .portNum    = ENET_MAC_PORT_6, /* RGMII */
        .vlanCfg = { .portPri = 0U, .portCfi = 0U, .portVID = 0U }
    },
Now we can connect the TDA4 board with the PC, while ping from PC to TDA4  and from TDA4 to PC. the board work properly.
But when we test the Multicast and Broadcast functions, the data package can be sent and seen from tcpdump  but PC can not recv packages as we checking through Wireshark.
if there are  any extra configurations for Multicast and Broadcast for TDA4 broad?
  • Hi,

    Which SDK version are you using ? Broadcast shouldn't require any special configuration, multicast will require an ALE configuration.

    And I am curious as to how ping is working from TDA4 to PC without Broadcast as the first message in a ping is a broadcast ARP asking for identity.

    Can you reboot the TDA4 and before you ping from the TDA4 to PC, start the wireshark capture and share it ?

    Regards

    Vineet
