TDA4VM: C7x L1 cache cannot be disabled?

Part Number: TDA4VM

Hi

The L1 cache is still working even when the cache is disabled in the MMU, is this the correct behavior?

The L1 cache cannot be disabled. Is it correct to assume that the MMU cache settings will also be ignored because of this? The L1 cache cannot be disabled. Is it correct to assume that the MMU cache settings will also be ignored because of this?

  • Dear HaTa,

C7x L1 program cache cannot be turned off.

C7x L1 data cache cannot be turned off either. As the first level data cache, L1D is bound to guarantee good C7x performance whenever memory accesses is concerned. The design makes sure of this by always keeping cache functional and constrain the minimum cache size can be configured being 8KB, not 0KB. Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Kai
