Hi,

My customers are trying to replace AM5728 with Am5748 to increase the frequency of DDR. I have a question because I could not understand something in the Compatibility guide.
Customers are using the TI Linux SDK.

About HW, we think that it is pin-compatible and can be used without any changes. Is this correct?

About SW, can we use it without any changes?

Hi Rei,

On the software compatibility. You should use am574x-idk.dtb instead of am572x-idk.dtb.

Rei,

VIP3 / vin5a/6a is not supported on AM5748. If their previous systems use VIP3 then a hardware change is required.

Also, please review Table 4. Pin Compatibility of the appnote you referenced in detail.
