Hi!
I'm teaching DSP at Aarhus University, Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Denmark.
In my 4th semester course, we use a TMDX5535EZDSP 16-bit fixed point dev. board for small real-time exercises in FIR and IIR filtering on audio signals.
The processor C5535 dates back some 10 years, and it might be time for a replacement.
What do you think? Is it time to start using a floating-point DSP? And what development board could you recommend? It is important, that it has an audio codec, price should be student friendly, and there must be an easy start-up guide / litterature.
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
