NAND 8-bit ECC support

Hi,

TI's EP may not yet support NAND 8 bits ECC in Hardware. I have several questions about 8bits ECC NAND.

1) Would you please let me know your plan to support 8 bits ECC NAND in Hardware. Especially, I'd like to know if DM355 new silicon revision will support.

2) If we use 8 bit ECC NAND in stead of 4 bit ECC NAND with DM355 (4 bit ECC correction), is there any trouble? Of course, I understand more than 4 bits error can

not detect/ correct. But still 4 bit ECC NAND neither can not detect/ correct.

3) Do you have any software to support 8 bit ECC NAND?

But still would like to know 1) and 3) in case of DM355.

8 bit ECC is not supported (hardware or software).

It seems you have no plan to support 8bit ECC right now. But from NAND maker point of view, even the SLC NAND could not keep its quality because of smaller process, NAND should have much bigger ECC than 4bit. 8bit ECC should be supported sooner or later.
