TDA4VM: Communication between A72 and R5

Dear TI,

We need to establish a communication between R5(Classic Autosar) and A72(Running a HLOS- Linux/QNX).

What is the best method to use.

I found that on the R5 side we can use cdd and ipc profiling app.

Below is the link I have referred to:

Is my understanding correct?

And on the A72 core, is there any sample driver and application code available for QNX/Linux?

If yes, please let me know how to use it and where can I find it.

I have one question here, in the installation section (4.7.5), it is mentioned that main_tirtos.c, so to make the communication, on A72 - do we need to run tirtos?

Is it possible to make the communication only with Linux/QNX on A72 ?

Only with Classic Autosar on R5?

Hi John,

Is the LLD ( Low leve device driver on Linux/QNX) is it same as CDD on Classic AUTOSAR? or they are different.

If possible could you share a clear architecture or block diagram which can explain the complete communication flow from A72 to R5?

Hi Karunakar,

IPC CDD (for Classic Autosar) is a wrapper on top of IPC LLD (low level driver for baremetal).

In order to test IPC CDD from MCU10 or MCU21 R5F cores on SDK7.1, please use the default Linux kernel sample on A72, i.e: rpmsg_client_sample

This Linux example is part of the prebuilt Linux images come from SDK. More details on how to compile IPC CDD and how to run it with Linux are captured in the below section:
