Part Number: AM5728
Hi!
In my team we are performing some CAN tests on the AM5728 CPU and we have faced unexpected behavior of the TX and RX counters. We have noticed that turning CAN device off and back on does NOT reset TX and RX counters and there is no way to reset them manually. The only viable way of doing so is to keep performing successful frame transfer across 2 CAN devices which eventually decrement counters by 1.
Setting up built-in can0 device:
CAN properly gets into bus-passive state. After restarting device state is set to active, nevertheless it does NOT reset TX counter.
We have come to the conclusion that TI driver that covers CAN protocol is not working properly. Restarting device should also cause it's error counters to reset, what we have validated on PEAK-CAN USB and mcp2515 CAN. We require some assistance in this matter.
Kernel: unmodified kernel from SDK-processor,
Edit:
I have tried to send that frame again after bringing the device UP and here is what happened:
Although device seems to be active it definitely isn't working properly and it is not able to set passive state again.
Best regards, Paweł Gmurczyk
