AM1808 LCDC Frame Buffer Access

Can EMIFA be used for the LCD controller frame buffer access? I would like to reduce the burden on the bus caused by the frame buffer transfers. Assuming the DDR2/mDDR interface is used for all run-time memory will using EMIFA for the frame buffer transfers reduce the burden on the CPU/BUS? Again assume there is no other memory on the EMIFA.

Table 4-1 of the System Reference Guide will show that LCDC can only access DDR2 memory, not EMIFA unfortunately.

Thanks. Somehow I missed that diagram. What is the best way to calculate the DDR bus bandwidth consumed by the LCDC to refresh the LCD?

It should be relatively straightforward. Just find your pixel clock rate and the number of bits per pixel and you can calculate the average throughput required by the DDR to keep up.
