PROCESSOR-SDK-AM57X: Adding TIOVX to Sitara Processor SDK RTOS

Are there any resources or examples for adding Frameworks/APIs to the Processor SDK? I would like to determine how much work it would take to add TIOVX to the Processor SDK RTOS for the Sitara devices. Looking through the TIOVX documentation for the Jacinto Processor SDK, it looks like it depends on the following modules that aren't present in the Sitara Processor SDK:

VXLIB

TIDL

Imaging

Processor SDK RTOS 7.2

This seems like a lot to try to port, but I'm still in the early stages of researching this so I'm trying to figure out how feasible it would be to get some of the TIOVX/OpenVX or OpenCV functions running on a Sitara processor.

Hi,

Instead of porting OpenVX to AM57xx SDK, have you considered TDA2x platform?

Processor SDK Vision for TDA2x platform includes OpenVX support.

TDA2x SoC has similar feature set and performance comparing to AM57xx.

Hi Stanley,

I did notice that TDA2x includes OpenVX support, but I don't have control over the platform we're using for the project and the AM57xx has already been decided on. We will likely only need a couple OpenVX/OpenCV functions, so we're trying to get a feel for whether it would take less effort to port OpenVX to the AM57xx or if we should just develop our own algorithms as needed.

The effort is the same regardless how many OpenVX kernel you will use. It is the platform porting required to add OpenVX support to AM57xx. The effort would be significant and TI won't be able to support this.

OpenCL is supported on AM57x. Would that be an option for you? Please refer to the user guide at the following link.
