AM6548: MII connection

Does the customer have SR 1.0 or SR 2.0 ?

Have you looked at the AM65x TRM ? If you look at the Figure : PRU_ICSSG0/1 External Interface I/Os, you can see those signals. The actual pins would depend on the customers chosen pinmuxing scheme, they need to export it themselves via the pinmuxing tool.

There is no TX_ER signal.

TXC is part of RGMII right ? or are you referring to the clock ?

I’m not sure about the SR 1.0 or 2.0. This question came up because they want to use TI processor acting as the MAC.

I was asking specifically about the MII case because in MII, the TX clock is an input to the MAC, as opposed to an output from the MAC when in RGMII. So, it was not obvious to me if same pin is used for TXC regardless of mode of operation (input when MII, output when RGMII). They did look at the pinmuxing tool and when they select MII it does seem to use the same pin for TXC as it would for RGMII.

Does this line up with the expected behavior?

I have another question about the pinmux tool for the AM65x device. I am not clear on why the ‘Rx’ checkbox is selected by default on the RGMII Tx pins. See attached screenshot.

Maybe an odd quirk with the GUI tool. I checked the pinmux data with and without the tick and there is no difference so you can ignore it.

I don't see this issue with MII pins though.
