Hello,
We have a AM65x/DRA80xM Industrial Development Kit, but it does not seem to be working.
I just want to see U-boot output from serial.
I’ve followed the instruction manual included with the board, but I see no output from the UART serial (All 4 ports).
I've tried switching to different MCU boot modes, but that didn't help.
SW3 and SW2 are all set to off except for SW3.2 and SW3.3
I am providing custom power supply which is set to 24V, and can support up to 15A.
I eventually want to use JTAG, but no JTAG is connected right now to ensure there is no weird interference.
When executing the setup.sh script from the SDK, the board did not respond to the minicom setup part when I provided the serial port.
I don't think there is anything wrong with the host side, since this is the same machine I used to get TI Jacinto7 board working.
In the end, I do not know what I need to expect from out-of-the-box board.
1) Is it supposed to just work? (Are you supposed to see some serial output? Especially in the lower level like minicom?)
2) Where does the U-boot live? (My current guess is internal eMMC)
3) Which boot mode is expected to work? Should hyperflash already have u-boot flashed onto it?
4) Is SD card necessary for the boot? (boot as in getting to U-boot, not kernel)
5) I'm using the micro-USB cable for the UART... maybe UART is being routed to some other serial?
6) If there is an issue with hardware, how would I be able to tell? And if it is broken, can I get a replacement?
Please let me know if you need more information.
Thanks,
Will
