AM3352: DDR3 configuration

Part Number: AM3352

Hi

I' d like to set  ASR(Auto Self Refresh) or SRT(Self Refresh Temperature).

According to the AM335x TRM, these function could be enabled by setting "1" to reg_srt, reg_asr.

Therefore, I set it during DDR3 initialization.

Question

1) Is there any way to confirm if our setting is appropriately applied or not.

2) Is there any other sequences which we have to do to enable  ASR(Auto Self Refresh) or SRT(Self Refresh Temperature)?

Thanks and Best regards,

HaTa

  • HaTa, both settings control the operation of the self refresh timing in the memory itself, so there is no easy way to confirm it other than to test if the memory contents are stable at high temps.  Setting either bit will trigger an initialization, which would only be noticeable if you probe the DDR signals.

Will you be using self refresh in a high temperature situation (ie greater than 85C)?  Note that there could be issues with ASR if the temperature is not monitored correctly.  This is described in the DDR datasheet

    Regards,
