TDA4VM: Disabling PMIC watchdog in case of unprogrammed device

Part Number: TDA4VM

hi,

I am using TPS6594 PMIC with the SoC.  In case of unprogrammed device,  how do we disable PMIC watchdog?

Does boot loader (tiboot3.bin) or sysfw already do anything in this regard?

My understanding is that : HW design should taken care of disabling PMIC watchdog during the initial boot (unprogrammed device).

Please confirm.

  • Hello,

Yes, that is correct.  PIN8 of the PMIC (Designated as PMICA or the primary PMIC) is designated as the DISABLE_WATCHDOG function.  This pin should simply be pulled high externally and then can be configured by software over I2C.

    Regards,
    Chris
