TDA4VM: Load R5 firmware from Uboot with QNX image

Part Number: TDA4VM

Hi,

How a R5 core firmware can be loaded by Uboot, if we are using QNX instead of Linux as the kernel.

In case of Linux Uboot is able to load from rootfs/lib/firmware.

Similarly, I want to know how it can be done if QNX is used.

Please suggest.

Thanks in advance.

BR,

Sainath

  • Hi Sainath,

Using Uboot to load QNX image filesystem is supported in PSDK QNX.  In TI documentation this is referred to as the SPL boot flow.  In this case the R5 core firmware binary would be loaded in the same fashion as done for Linux.  For an SD boot, this is documented in the Vision Apps User Guide here.

If using the SBL bootflow, the R5 binary would be loaded as part of the SBL bootflow prior to (or in parallel to)  the A72 running.

  • Hi KB,

    Thank you for the answer.

I will explore and try what you have suggested.

  • Hi Sainath,

Were you able to successfully load the R5 images from Uboot, as part of the PSDK QNX boot flow?  Can this thread be closed?

    Thanks,
