Rotor alignment and Offset learning

Hi,

   I am using resolver for rotor position measurement for IM FOC control. How to ensure rotor is aligned with d axis during IM Rotor  alignment and Offset learning process?.

    Controller:TMS320F28069 (C2000)

    Application: EV 

    Motor Driver: Mosfet based VSI

     I need to develop rotor alignment and offset learning algorithm for that referring multiple transaction papers and application notes but i cant able to find how we are ensuring rotor is aligned with D axis or not is not clear.

  • Are you using an ACI motor? If yes, I don't think you need to apply this process for an ACIM since you are using a resolver as a position sensor.

  • Yes. But also i need develop initial position learning algorithm for IPMSM.

    Please share any standard method followed in existing EV vehicle applications.

  • You just need to detect the offset one time by using the force alignment method and save it in your project since you are using the resolver which is an absolute position sensor.
