How can my customer start external tools in CCS?
Where do I find this option and how do I get there?

I think I originally misunderstood what you meant starting external tools. Do you mean being able to launch other programs from inside the CCS IDE environment? If so, what is the exact customer use case for this?

Good day, yes they wanted to launch other programs from inside the CCS IDE environment. Is this possible? They are not certain for now what to use, they just want to know if this is possible.

It is possible to launch other tools from within CCS.  One way of doing this is using the "External tools" feature.  This is hidden by default but you can add it to the Run menu by customizing the perspective.  You can do that from the Window menu.  Here is what to select to add the menu item:

Without know exactly what they want to do it is a bit hard to point them in the right direction.  Often when people are looking to run an external tool it is actually something that they want to do as part of building a project.  That is usually done by leveraging pre or post build steps.
