PROCESSOR-SDK-AM57X: AM57xx Linux SDK Essentials 07.01.00 release

Part Number: PROCESSOR-SDK-AM57X

Hi,

The latest AM57xx Linux SDK Essentials release is still the 6.3.0.106:

But the SDK 07.01.00 seems to have been published on 10 December 2020:

Is any prebuilt SDK 7.1 image available for the IDK574x board?
Why the SDK releases are not officially announced?

Best regards,
Romain

  • Hi Romain Naour,

SDK7.1 has been an internal release, with K5.4 migration but no new feature addition.

Can you please provide details on

    1. What are the use cases you enabled on SDK6.3?

    2. What is the requirement for SDK7.1 migration?

    Thanks & Regards,

    Sunita.

I'm using the PRUETH driver in single MAC mode and dual MAC mode. I'm using the wlcore driver too with a preempt-rt kernel.

Because of issues on the PRUETH single MAC mode and a kernel issue with wlcore driver:

  • The SDK 7.1 is important for the PRUETH driver in single MAC mode and dual MAC mode. This would be difficult to backport to SDK 6.3.

Could a newer commit of "">arago-project.org/.../oe-layersetup.git" be used to achieve a Yocto Arago build with K5.4?
Would one of these commits build, for example "tisdk-rootfs-image.bb", the equivalent of the SDK 7.1 internal release?
Are there known issues with the SDK 7.1 internal release?

    Thank you for your help.

  • Hi Gregory Smith,

SDK7.1 internal release didn't go through the complete compliance testing we did for SDK6.3.

Hence the recommendation is to stick with SDK6.3 and backport if any fix needed from K5.4.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Sunita.
