Our customer is developing a consumer application and would like additional security information regarding AM5728 under Linux.
Main question is about Security. The fact that this is a public facing application (Video-based Advertising Kiosk) the customer finds that a /root configuration is not ideal from a secure standpoint. (They find access outside of the /root is forbidden in their current Linux/AM5728 EMV setup likely because that hardware isn’t ‘opened up’ out of the box like we can typically enable with our processors).
Therefore, they have asked for details on how to make this more secure from a Linux (/root) config standpoint. Ideally, we’d want to send along whatever security collateral and reference docs that are most applicable here. Closest use-case is an electronic voting machine to keep that in mind from a security perspective.
