C6A8167 RSVD question

Hello,

My customer had the following question on the 8167:

Because T.I. tends to redefine the RSVD pins on their DSPs, should I add zero ohm resistors on these pins to allow for changes to the RSVD pin definitions? Currently I have the RSVD pins tied directly to supply voltages or no-connects. Adding these resistors will be a routing challenge. Can you find out if these pins are likely to ever change?

If not I would prefer to leave them as they are currently connected.

Thanks,

Tom

  • Tom,

I would not tie these pins to anything other than what is specified in the datasheet. If the datasheet says to leave them floating then they must be left floating. If the datasheet says to tie them, then they must be tied.

Reserved pins are just that... reserved for some non-user function such as test access etc... and as such may be inputs, outputs, ancillary power etc...

    BR,
