AM5728: SoC interface test

Hello,

I have purchased AM5728 SoC and already have one AM5728 Evaluation module. There is a requirement to test all the interfaces present on SoC. I ran the tester software, referring to this LINK both through SD card and JTAG Emulator. However, it seems few interfaces are missing from the tester software for evmAM572x.

I have few queries regarding the testing of the SoC interfaces.

1. What shall be the pre-requisite to test all the interfaces present on SoC. For example, is it OK to run the tester software through an emulator without loading any u-boot or kernel filesystem?

2. How to test the PCIe interface ion the SoC, It is not part of tester software, and also, it seems it is not supported for evmAM572x. Is it so?

2. Similarly, how to test the McASP interface on which TLV32x audio codec is connected on the EVM AM5728. As per the Makefile, this interface is not supported for the evmAM572x board?

3. How to test the buses present on SoC. For example - i2c bus, DDR3 memory bus, etc.?

Hi,

1. The Diagnostic Application is TI RTOS based so you don't need to load u-boot or linux filesystem.

2. PCIe driver is supported in Linux only. You have to use AM57x Processor SDK Linux to test it on EVM.

Thanks for the reply Stanely,

1. Yes, I was able to successfully run this diagnostic application.

2. Ok, What is the procedure to test this interface. In my custom board, I shall be connecting the Wi-Fi device on this PCIe interface. If any error comes, how can I isolate whether the interface is faulty or the peripheral connected to it? Hence, need a test to verify the interface.

3. It seems for the Diagnostic Application Table (Link in Point 4), the McASP test is not supported for EVM-AM5728. The same was verified from the Makefile of the McASP Test source code.
