c6711d internal pullups/downs while in reset

Hello,

Can someone please confirm that the C6711D's internal pullups/downs remain active while the device is in reset?

The table on pg 25 of the datasheet http://focus.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tms320c6711d.pdf doesn't talk about this.

Thanks,

Katie

  • Katie,

With these DSPs, the IPU/IPD's are all active weak current cells that will always be on. This family was designed before we started putting in the capability to turn the IPU/IPD off or configure them one way or another.

Although I have no way to confirm this from the RTL or design spec, I am very confident that these will be active during reset. We do recommend that 10k-20k resistors be used to assist these IPU/IPD's for any of the signals that are sampled when reset goes away so that the right values will always be latched. A smaller value like 1k would be needed if the IPU/IPD needs to be opposed at reset.

    Regards,
    RandyP
