OMAP-L138: For unused pins that are designated as "No Connect"

Part Number: OMAP-L138

Hi experts,

My customer is using OMAPL-138 in their design. They have a question about "3.9 Unused Pin Configurations" in "OMAP-L138 C6000 DSP+ARM Processor datasheet (Rev. J)".

Q1: Is it possible that some of the pins designated as "No Connect" may have unstable pin voltages during power-up, causing through-current to flow and persist?

Q2: If there is even the slightest possibility of this happening as in Q1, is it okay to add a pull-up or pull-down resistor?
The datasheet does not mention any process other than "No Connect" and "OMAP-L13x / C674x / AM1x schematic review guidelines". Please let me check if there is any problem in processing with external Pull Up/Down resistors.

Best regards,
O.H

  • I have no information to provide guidance on the possibility of through-current on any of the no connect pins.

No connect pins, as the name implies, must be left unconnected.  Under no circumstances should anything be connected to them.

Is there a particular issue that you are trying to solve?

  • Hi PaulM,

Sorry for the late reply. And thank you for your reply and information.

It seems that you are not currently experiencing a problem, but they are concerned about the possibility of a through-current. I have passed on your information to the customer and will share any additional information if there is a specific issue. If there are no specific issue, we will mark your answer as "resolved".

    Best regards,
    O.H

  • Thanks for the update
