AM5729: Does it support 2 GMAC port in parallel?

Hi,

I am using AM5729 for EtherCAT Master implementation and using Acontis stack. I am trying to use 1GMAC port as EtherCAT Master and 2nd GMAC port as TCP/IP port for debugging. Does AM5729 support parallel operation of 2 GMAC ports in CPSW core? Acontis given feedback that "2 ports are not independent. They will share some registers in common." Can someone help me on this?

    Hi,

    Yes, the two GMAC ports share registers because they are part of 1 CPSW module, but they can behave independently. If you see the out of box Linux implementation, they are configured as two independent MAC ports.

    Is there any specific configuration which you are having trouble with ?
