AM6548: Does the AM6548 PMIC(TPS65941319) driver already support?

Hi Ti

I want to ask if the the AM6548 PMIC(TPS65941319) driver already supported under linux? I did not find the corresponding driver file under the ti-processor-sdk-linux-am65xx-evm-07_01_00_17/board-support/linux-5.4.74+gitAUTOINC+9574bba32a-g9574bba32a/drivers/mfd path, please help me to find out. Thank you!

Hi,

First of all AM6548 PMIC is not TPS659413.

J721e has the above PMIC. There is no Linux driver support for the above. The PMIC is not supposed to be accessed from A72(Linux) side
as per design & hence no drivers. Resolve the issue if no further questions.

Thank you very much for your reply. The power scheme of the evm development board of am6548 is not a pmic scheme. We hope to use the pmic solution. TI's fae told us to choose this pmic chip. Is this wrong?

Hi James,

I will let our board design expert comment on the power solution. From Linux stand point there are no drivers as A53 does not
have control over PMIC. There is a small portion of R5 SPL that controls one regulator for AVS voltage setting.

There is a PMIC supported for AM65x. The part number provided by customer is correct. However, TI does not have any hardware built for this PMIC, and no plans to design/build any hardware for it. Keerthy will have to comment if it will be support by our software.

Keerthy,

For customer, they don't care the driver is on A53 or R5F, hence no matter a Linux driver, or sysfw, SPL code, they just need their board with the PMIC can work with Processor SDK.

How do you think when will TI help to integrate TPS659413 support in Processor SDK?

Tony,

The above PMIC is supported on J721e SoC in the R5 SPL side. So that driver is already in u-boot but that was used with J721e
& not AM65xx. In essence the driver support(PMIC regulators) is present for R5 SPL but customer will have to take care of the DT
nodes addition themselves from the Linux side.|
