PROCESSOR-SDK-AM65X: ICSS-G and UDMA

Hi,

I started with the am65_idk we want to support ICSS-G.
Maybe later also the new CPSW.
We plan our own real-time driver for Ti-Rtos and Linux Userspace.

UDMA currently seems to become the biggest struggle.

In other threads UDMA is called mandatory for the new CPSW and ICSSG.
But there is an example without UDMA at
pdk_am65xx_1_0_7\packages\ti\drv\icss_emac\test\am65xx
(I couldn't get it running on my first try)
Is this not working?

Is there an approach to configure and use UDMA from Linux Userspace?

Hi Daniel,

Please take a look at this thread, there is a loop back application for ICSSG.

Also, provide more details on your usecase, how will Linux and RTOS interact in this case and who will own what ?

I will check and get back to you on configuring UDMA from Linux userspace

Currently we don't plan any mixed OS mode.

Only Ti-Rtos or Only Linux userspace.

For both, the used Pru should have no contact to the OS drivers (except Udma)
