Re: > 10 Mbps Ethernet on the EVM?

BJ,

Before you RMA the board you can find low level board tests that run in Code Composer Studio + JTAG on the Spectrum digital website at:

For DDR2 DIMM EVM http://support.spectrumdigital.com/boards/netradimm/revc/

For DDR3 EVM http://support.spectrumdigital.com/boards/netra/revb/

Normally there is a CCS based test case for ethernet that requires a local loopback connector.

  • Hi Iain,

I have made a GigE loopback plug.

When I plug it into the board booted in Linux, the link comes up as 100/Full and appears to be stable. This is probably because near-end crosstalk cancellation is enabled and it cannot make 1G link.

I have downloaded the diagnostics package; can you give me basic instructions as how to use it or point me to a document that describes that as I don't have very much experience with CCS (at all) and I am not sure where to begin.

Do the Netra diagnostics support checking 1G loopback?

    Best regards,

    B.J.

  • Hi, So I downloaded the board diagnostics zip package. On the Spectrum Digital site, it says: Test Code Test code and board support library (CCS 4.2) for the DM816x/C6A816x/AM389x EVM with DIMM . Includes tests for expansion cards. I open the EMAC test project in CCS 4.2. It compiles fine, but I have no idea how to get it onto the board. In particular, CCS 4.2 does not appear to have any knowledge of the the C6A8168 part. At the moment I am stuck. Anyone have any suggestions about what I should be doing? Best regards, B.J.
