Hi Tommy,
it is mandatory to use the smart reflex technology!
You could use the recommended UCD9244/7242 combination for the core voltage. Please see also the HW design guidelines Section 5.9.

I don not think that our board manufactor workers has the education / experiense needed to program the UDC9222 .
Can Texas Instruments deliver programmed UCD9222 parts that are ready to use / solder on our boards ?
Or can we buy a module from TI that can be used with the 6678 ?
Because the UCD92xx devices can control from one to four voltage rails and up to 8 half-bridge power stages, it is not possible to know what configuration the part will be used in at the factory. So the default configuration is for all PWM outputs to be disabled until it is configured. So each device must be configured through the PMBus, (or alternately a configuration image downloaded through JTAG on an in-circuit tester), before they will do anything.
At the current time, we don't do custom configurations for any customers in the Texas Instruments factory.
What I can provide is the attached document from AVNET which gives an overiew of their logistical services including IC programming, it also includes contact information.

Also, the following link to Arrow's Device Programming Services webpage discusses their capabilities, includes a short video and has contact information

... I don't think so, but this is a very good suggestion ...

The TMDXEVM6678L EVM design for the TMS320C6678 DSP is still in the pre-release phase. Once the design has stabilized, the design collateral including the UCD9222 configuration will be posted for download. Customers receiving early samples should contact their sales FAE for support.
The contract manufacturer for the TMDXEVM6678L is Advantech. Their EVM web page has been launched. It can be found at http://www.advantech.com/Support/TI-EVM/default.aspx. Note that it is still under development.
The attached UCD9222 configuration file for the EVM is expected to be the version released with the next batch produced. Please download the Fusion Digital Designer software from here to view and edit this configuration.

The C6678L EVM contains a UCD9222 and a UCD7242. It uses the first rail for the Smart Reflex primary supply CVDD and the second rail for the fixed 1.0V core supply CVDD1. Boards with multiple C6678 DSPs can be grouped so that separate channels of a UCD9222 or UCD9244 can control the CVDD supply for each DSP separately.
Hi Tom,
I have a few questions about smartreflex supply.
Smart reflex function of the primary supply CVDD is not used on the first versions of the EVM. Is that true?
If it is true, can we use fix 1.0V supply for the CVDD instead of UCD9222 solution?
Best regards
Rasit
That is not correct. A Smart Reflex supply solution must be used. We cannot guarantee power limits and reliability estimates without it. The early prototype EVMs used pre-production samples that are not required to operate with production constraints.
Tom
The Fusion Digital Designer software from here allows you to view and edit the configuration. It is also used to download the configuration to the UCD92xx and to monitor the current and voltage of the power supply. This is accomplished by connecting your PC to the UCD92xx with the USB-to-GPIO pod which is available from TI and from distributors. (https://estore.ti.com/USB-TO-GPIO-USB-Interface-Adapter-EVM-P960.aspx) The GPIO side of the pod is connected to the PMBus. The EVM provides a connector to PMBus which allows the user to connect the Fusion Digital Designer software for monitoring. Note that the USB-to-GPIO pod is not included with the EVM and must be purchased separately.
