TDA4VM: TIDL ONNX import error with 32-bit numParamBits

Part Number: TDA4VM

Dear Support,

I've tried to import a network with numParamBits = 32.
I have only one warning here:

WARNING: [TIDL_E_DATAFLOW_INFO_NULL] ti_cnnperfsim.out fails to allocate memory in MSMC. Please look into perfsim log. This model can only be used on PC emulation, it will get fault on target.

As it writes, the hardware goes idle when I try to run this network on it.

I can import the same network with numParamBits = 8, and I can run it on TDA4.
How can I solve this problem? I need it to run on the target.

  • Hi Gregely,

The floating point mode ( i.e. numParamBits = 32) is only supported on PC emulation mode. This is used only during model import or for debugging purpose. So if you are using numParamBits = 32 then inference can only be done on PC. If you are looking for EVM performance comparison then you should run in fixed point mode.
