CCSTUDIO: version 3.3 on WinXP

Part Number: CCSTUDIO

Hello Guys,

Good day.

Our customer loaded  Code Composer 3.3 in a Windows XP VM using Oracle VirtualBox. When he start it up after configuration, it gets stuck trying to connect to the Spectrum Digital XDS510 USB emulator. According to him It has to do with the USB enumeration of the device. In the Device Manager, Windows shows that the device is functional and has the correct driver. But when he run Code Composer though, it sits there in this constant loop where it tries to enumerate the USB device. What do you think could be the issue?

Thanks and regards,

Art

  • Hi!

Just checking, did your customer attached USB device to virtual machine? This should be done manually each time, or automatically with filter matching emulator's name.

  • If the customer is indeed making sure the XDS510USB is properly attached to the VM, have them run the SdConfig utility and see if the utility can detect the probe. If it is unsuccessful, then there may be an issue with that probe and running it from VirtualBox. Unfortunately there is not much support we can provide. Not only are both CCSV3.3 and the SD XDS510USB both not supported anymore, the SD XDS510USB (both HW and drivers) were completely developed by Spectrum Digital. Normally you would need to go directly to them for support but Spectrum Digital are no longer in business so there really is no support for that probe.
