TDA4VM: TIDL: “TSC Mega Cycles”

Part Number: TDA4VM

Hi

I have a question to “TSC Mega Cycles” which described at

https://software-dl.ti.com/jacinto7/esd/processor-sdk-rtos-jacinto7/07_02_00_06/exports/docs/tidl_j7_01_04_00_08/ti_dl/docs/user_guide_html/md_tidl_sample_test.html

What does the number of “TSC Mega Cycles” which is printed at console indicate?

Is it the number of cycle? Or the time which is taken per frame?

I ask it because,

As far as I read the description in the web page, I believe that “TSC Mega Cycles” should indicate to the number of cycle.

However, according to customer’s verification, the number of “TSC Maga Cycles” is increased if C7x freq is decreased.

This means that “TSC Mega Cycles” indicates the time which is taken per frame, I think.

Thanks and Best regards,

HaTa

  • Hi HaTa,
Thanks for bringing this up. The unit mentioned is incorrect. This change was recently done but we seems to have forgot to change the unit. So the logs are actually time in ms assuming c7x is running at 1GHz. We didnt catch this because @1GHz the mega cycles directly becomes mili seconds in time. We will correct this in our next release.
