Power domains on AM35x

I'm getting conflicting input from SPRUGR0B.pdf regarding power domains.

All over the manual, it talks about "this module runs in this clock domain and this power domain."

But section 4.1.2.2 states that there is only ONE power domain.

The GPIO sections, when discussing wakeup, talk about only some pins of GPIO1 having power in standby mode.  But if there are no power switches, meaning no independent power domains, is this not irrelevant?  Since the CLOCKING is different between GPIO1 and the other GPIO modules, I definitely care that GPIO1 stays active...

Thanks,

Matt

  • Hello Matt,

AM35x supports only single power domain, so GPIO1 is always powered in standby mode and all GPIO1 pins should be available for the wakeup event. The description in the GPIO sections will be updated in next TRM release.
