TMDX654IDKEVM: AM65xx: GPMC throughput with FPGA

Part Number: TMDX654IDKEVM

Dear TI Support Team,

I'd like to know the throughput of AM65xx GPMC which connects with FPGA.

I found a thread

AM6526: GPMC throughput with FPGA - Processors forum - Processors - TI E2E support forums

which refers to a document that is no longer available.

Could you please update the link or provide relevant benchmarks.

Thank you in advance.

Kind Regards,

Yury.

  • Yury,

The GPMC throughput is dependent on the system configuration (i.e. frequency, wait states), memory interface type (async, sync), as well as the software used to trigger and interface the transactions (i.e. was DMA enabled?).

For the benchmark mentioned in the thread you located, GPMC registers were configured as follows and ran with 100 MHz clock, DMA enabled, and 352B data transfer in 16 word bursts.

    GPMC_CONFIG1_0: 0x79001001

    GPMC_CONFIG2_0: 0x00070780

    GPMC_CONFIG3_0: 0x22030311

    GPMC_CONFIG4_0: 0x07056715

    GPMC_CONFIG5_0: 0x02060808

    GPMC_CONFIG6_0: 0x86050000

    GPMC_CONFIG7_0: 0x00000F60

We observed data written in 2.3 us, and read in 2.5 us.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Shiou Mei
