How to boot from NAND for AM37x on Android

Is there a user guide that about booting from NAND complete?

I mean do not need SD card.

For booting from SD card, we need 3 partitions. We also need those partitions for booting from NAND?

How could I do that? How could I flash android file "rootfs_am37x.tar.bz2" to NAND?

I only found something about booting from NAND for Linun, nothing about Android.

I have tried that steps above.

But that guide is just for flashing the boot files, said nothing about "rootfs_am37x.tar.bz2".

For boothing from NAND:

1.booting files. - done

2.system files. - nothing info about it.

You will typically use more partitions when using a NAND-based system.

e.g on omap3evm, the NAND partitions are defined in the kernel as follows:

0x000000000000-0x000000080000 : "xloader-nand"
0x000000080000-0x000000240000 : "uboot-nand"
0x000000240000-0x000000280000 : "params-nand"
0x000000280000-0x000000780000 : "linux-nand"
0x000000780000-0x000020000000 : "jffs2-nand

Do note that the TI Android devkit uses the 3rd partition on the SD card for data storage. You would need to specify an alternate media for android data storage.

You will first need to create UBI or YAFFS2 image from the rootfs tarball before you can flash it to NAND.

Steps to create UBI and YAFFS2 image are given in the user guide.

Not sure what exactly you are looking at.

The detailed procedure to generate a UBIFS image out of Android rootfs, setting bootargs, flashing these images on to NAND and then booting Android through NAND is all mentioned in the User Guide.
