TDA4VM: UB941 or UB981 used on PROC079E3 BOARD?

Part Number: TDA4VM

Hi,

In Page 49 of PROC079E3B(001)_SCH.pdf:

There are many PINs named UB981 on a UB941 chip.

And UB981 is also in EVM User's Guide: https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/spruis4a/spruis4a.pdf

But I checked on our Rev E3B board, it's UB941.

So are they just typos ?

  • EVM was planned to start with UB941A, and then later transition to UB981 (as they where planned to be footprint compatible).  However, the transition did not occur, and the EVM stayed with UB941A.  We will update the user guide to change the 'UB981' comments to 'UB941'.  Will also add comment similar to this response on why the net names include UB981.
