How to load and run the DSP gel file on C6657 EVM ? 

  • Pre-requisite 

    1. Install CCS 9.3 from CCSTUDIO_9.3.0.00012 | TI.com
    2. In your C6657 EVM - board ----> You should put the DIP Switch settings in "No boot mode"  to connect to the CCS.

      That is  ------> DIP SW3 : 0 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 and DIP SW5 : 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1

    Steps:

    • Open CCS 9.3
    • Go to view option in the menu bar.
      • Click on the Target configuration.
      • In the Target configuration menu go to the User defined option
        • Double click on the ccxml to open the file.
      • In the C6657ccxml file
        • Click on the advanced option.
          • In “All connections” menu,
          • Select the Dsp core C66xx_0
          • In the CPU properties go to the Initialization script and browse the gel file
            path: C:\ti\ccs930\ccs\ccs_base\emulation\boards\evmc6657l\gel\ gel
          • Click save.
          • Select the next Dsp core C66xx_1
          • In the CPU properties go to the Initialization script and browse the gel file
            path: C:\ti\ccs930\ccs\ccs_base\emulation\boards\evmc6657l\gel\ gel
          • click save.
        • Go to view option, select the Target configuration.
          • Go to the User defined and right click the ccxml file.
          • click on the launch selected configuration.
        • A debug window will be opened.
          • Select the Texas Instruments XDS2xx USB Onboard Debug Probe_0/C66xx_0(Disconnect Unknown) and right click.
          • select Connect Target
          • Select the Texas Instruments XDS2xx USB Onboard Debug Probe_0/C66xx_1(Disconnect Unknown) and right click.
          • Select Connect Target
