We are planning to use eMMC in TDA2XX EVM as boot as well as storage media.

Can anyone confirm the maximum possible size of eMMC forTDA2XX ?

I got clarification about eMMC maximum support size.

I have doubt on mmc bit mode.

Each controller has the following data width:
• eMMC/SD/SDIO1 - 4-bit wide data bus
• eMMC/SD/SDIO2 - 8-bit wide data bus
• eMMC/SD/SDIO3 - 8-bit wide data bus
• eMMC/SD/SDIO4 - 4-bit wide data bus

I got above information from DRA7XX TRM,can you please clarify the difference between 4-bit mode and 8-bit mode ?

Hi,

There is no limitation on size of eMMC supported, it would be limited by the Operating system and type of file system being used.
On this device MMC2 controller is the best suitable and optimized for eMMC.

Are you asking this for eMMC?
The throughput would be half when comparing 4-bit mode to 8-bit mode.

Yes,any specific speed is there between 4-bit mode to 8-bit mode.

The speed would depend on what speed mode the device is operating on.
For example, if you operate in HS200 mode, Instead of 200 MBps, you would get 100 MBps with 4 bit mode.
