66AK2E05: 66AK2E05

Part Number: 66AK2E05
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: 66AK2G12

Hello

I have following queries related to 66AK2E05 in bare metal environment.

1. Can i use PCIe interface in DSP core?

2. Can i use 1G interface in ARM and DSP both simultaneously using different ports?

3. Can i use 10G interface in DSP?

4. Can i use Master arm core to load applications on rest arm and dsp cores a d they can execute the applications independently?

5. Can all arm and dsp core execute codes without intervention of master core?

Regards

Abhishek

  • Hello,

My team has some experience with 66AK2G12. We booted ARM with Linux, DSP binary was residing in Linux filesystem and ARM was booting DSP. Also we used PCIe interface from DSP towards external FPGA. So at least 1, 4 are yes. No5 solely depends on your design. Once master core loaded other cores and triggered their execution, these non-master cores run independently. One may design an application which could interact with outer world through shared memory and that is one to make it with zero impact on applications on other cores, so No5 is likely yes.

As to sharing peripheral between ARM cores and/or DSP, that could be done with some caution. It is expected that peripheral is used by one master at a time. If there is need to use by other master, some kind of mutual exclusion should be implemented.

As to No2,3 you'd better wait till K2E guru jumps into the thread.
