Hi team,

I know the difference between OMAPL138EZWTD4E and OMAPL138EZWTD4.

OMAPL138EZWTD4E have secure boot function. Customer can't download the code into OMAPL138EZWTD4E by JTAG but OMAPL138EZWTD4 can download.

Customer would like to know how to disable secure boot function when using OMAPL138EZWTD4E. They want to use OMAPL138EZWTD4E like OMAPL138EZWTD4.

Good to hear from you. Can you further clarify the use-case for this customer ?

Are they trying to use a secure boot device as non secure or are they developing a product that requires secure boot devices but for initial development they need the jtag unlocked etc?

Eggsy,

Secure OMAPL138 devices on power on reset executes a secure ROM that enforces authentication of images and also comes up with JTAG locked down. To unlock the JTAG and load binary images, you need to load a boot image that unlocks the JTAG and then connect to the DSP. Unlike the OMAPL138 variant, the secure OMAPL138 is a DSP boot master device. I have attached the JTAG unlock image by booting it from UART or other boot media and then connect to the device using emulator and CCS.

On the custom board, you will need the option to setup UART boot mode and load the image using secure UART loader as described here:

All of the SW for secure OMAPL138 devices is available on ti.com including Secure UART Host tool as indicated in BAsic Secure OMAPL138 article
