PROCESSOR-SDK-AM335X: How do you rebuild PDK with debug information for Sitara AM3359?

Hi,

I'm trying to debug a demo application on a custom hardware similar to the AM3359 ICE 2.1 EVM board (TMDSICE3359).
Because of some issues I would like to step through the board configuration. For that reason I need to rebuild the pdk for AM335x with debug information.
I've already tried to modify the config.bld inside the board directory, but it does not work. I'm working on a windows 10 machine.
What else do I have to consider? Can you give me further information how to rebuild the pdk with debug information?

Hi Marc,

What version of Processor-SDK-RTOS are you using?

Is this an RTOS or bare-metal application?

PDK build is described here: https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-rtos/esd/docs/06_03_00_106/AM335X/rtos/index_overview.html#rebuild-pdk

To rebuild the board library in debug mode, e.g. for AM335x ICEv2:

cd <PDK>\packages\ti\board
gmake "help" to get make help
gmake all LIMIT_SOCS=am335x LIMIT_BOARDS=icev2AM335x BUILD_PROFILE=debug

If your application in an RTOS application, update the .cfg file to use the debug library by changing the libProfile setting.
See <PDK>\packages\ti\board\Settings.xdc for an example.

thank you for your answer.

It is an RTOS application. I'm using the Processor-SDK-RTOS version 5.1.0.11.

The rebuild with debug information works so far. I added the profile setting to the cfg file

--> Board.Settings.libProfile = "debug";

and now ti.board.aa8fg is taken from the debug directory.
