supported wireless standards ADC/DDC AFE840x

Hi,

What wireless standards can be supported with the AFE8406?  What is the difference between an AFE8405 and AFE8406?

Thanks,

  • Hello,

The AFE8405 has a single ADC 14bit, 85Msps and a GC5018 DDC in an MCM package.  The AFE8406 has a dual ADC 14bit 85Msps and a GC5018 DDC in an MCM package.

The wireless standards that can be supported are CDMA, WCDMA, TDSCDMA, 1xEVDO, LTE5, LTE10, Wimax 3.5,5,7,10.  GSM Edge and GSM enhanced can be supported with specific

    frequency plans.

The DDC core can be clocked  at the ADC rate, or at 2x the ADC rate.  The DDC has 3 modes, double UMTS (4 channels), UMTS (8 channels), or CDMA (16 channels).  The filtering capability

and minimum decimation are based on the clock rates, operating mode, the output oversampling factor, and the symbol rate.  There is a spreadsheet attachment that illustrates common configurations for

    each of the wireless standards.

    Thanks for asking,

    Radio Joe
