TDC7201: TIDA-00663 with TDC7201

Part Number: TDC7201
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00663, TDC7200

Hi team,

My customer is interested in TDC7201 and wants to evaluate it with IR laser and photo diode. Therefore they consider to rebuild TIDA-00663 themselves but how to use it with TDC7201?

Additionally, what voltage and current capability is necessary for VCC_laser?

Regards,
Kazuto

  • The application is ToF sensing in the range 2m - 3m.

  • Hello Kazuto,

It is possible to implement the TDC7201 in this design. Here is an E2E post that covers the main differences between the TDC7200 and the TDC7201: E2E Link

I do not know the exact voltage used by the reference design, however I have included the datasheet for the specified SPL LL90_3 laser diode here: Laser Diode DS

Per datasheet specifications, the supply can range from approximately 5V to 20V depending on the desired optical output power required by the application. I recommend conducting tests on VCC_laser to determine the design tolerance required in the sensing application.

Please let me know if you have any other questions,

    Regards,

    Jacob
