MMWCAS-RF-EVM: Cascade _Configuration_TestSource.lua Mode of operation

Part Number: MMWCAS-RF-EVM

Hi there, so can i kindly check, when using the Cascade_Configuration_TestSource.lua file. I disabled the test_source_enable in order to test the system with an actual corner reflector. This works well and I was able to detect the presence of the corner reflector. What is the mode that the TI system is operating when using the Cascade_Configuration_TestSource.lua file? I believe it is definitely not MIMO or TxBeamforming, could it be SIMO in this case?

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

  • Hello Gabriel,

Yes you're right. I will still check the configuration in the script once and get back to you later today.

  • Hello Gabriel,

    Sorry for the delay.

If you take a look at the Cascade_Configuration_TestSource.lua script, the profile, chirp and frame configuration is what you've programmed in lines 60-90. And if you disable the test source, TX0 and TX1 are enabled for all the devices, which will transmit the chirps as per the configuration and the reflected signal is received by the enabled receivers based on the position of your corner reflector and that is what you're observing in the post processed window.

This is a case of Multiple input, multiple output, but without any multiplexing

    Hope that makes sense.

    Regards,

    Ishita
